Bangladesh

What SATMED solution brought:

  • Share work force and logistic records across the hospitalships and synchronize information at the Dhaka headquarters
  • Enable interaction with visiting medical staff from around the world

Friendship is a non-governmental organization founded in 2002 that aims to help underprivileged people in Bangladesh via 3 core activities: hospital ships, community-based health services, and teaching.

Considering its activities and being engaged in some of the most remote and inaccessible chars and riverbank areas in northern and southern Bangladesh, Friendship partnered with SATMED in order to access a well-connected, versatile and centralized platform offering the digital applications it needed to better support its mission locally.

Friendship's preferred SATMED applications are the e-learning tool, medical consultancy tool and Kobo tool for improving logistics. In addition, a dedicated connectivity solution allows the individual hospital ships to be connected to each other and thus exchange health information.

What the founder and executive director of Friendship NGO says about SATMED: "The poor cannot afford poor solutions. Therefore SATMED is a great digital health platform."
